PRINCE MICHAEL OF KENT COURT

Prince Michael of Kent Court is one of 17 care homes across England and Wales owned and operated by the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution Care Co (RMBI) and is dedicated to residential care, dementia support and respite care. The Home is situated in its own grounds in a pleasant residential area of Watford not far from the town centre and Watford Junction station. The Home has 55 rooms, most with ensuite facilities, arranged into five wings. Each wing has its own dining room and lounge; the Home also has a central large lounge as well as a conservatory, hair and beauty salon, shop, bar, small library and fitness centre. Outside, there are lovely courtyards and gardens. There’s a fully-serviced kitchen with a chef and catering team providing varied meal options for all dietary needs. Ample car parking is provided for visitors.

THE ASSOCIATION OF FRIENDS

Whilst the RMBI is committed to ensuring that residents in all their Homes receive the highest level of care, they rely on the help of supporters who play a significant role in their service provision. In every RMBI Home a volunteer group of Freemasons and others help to compliment the service to residents. It's called the Association of Friends; an independently registered charity with the following objectives:

EVENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT

Working with the Home Manager and the Activities staff, the Association of Friends funds and provides a range of social, leisure and entertainment activities and events for the residents and their families.

FACILITIES AND THERAPY EQUIPMENT

In co-operation with the Home Manager, the Association of Friends identifies and provides funding for facilities, therapy equipment and other items for the benefit of residents, these being over and above what is provided by the RMBI.

WHAT MONEY CAN'T BUY

Members of the Association of Friends play an important role in providing friendship and comfort to the Home's residents. A chat and a smile, a little conversation and a joke bring so much joy, particularly for those residents who have minimal or no contact with relatives.
